CHASE THE SUN
Only one week until Round 1 of the 2009 Chase the Sun Mountain Bike Series!
The Chase the Sun Mountain Bike Series are four events staged at the home of mountain biking. Do just one, or do them all.
Each event is of a different duration in relation to the varying daylight hours over the year. Ride solo or in a team of 2 or 3. These events have something for every level of rider.
There are new categories including Solo Male over 40 & over 50 as well as a Father & Son (or Daughter).

// 26th July 2009 (6 hour) // 16th August 2009 (7 hour)
Every participant will receive, a TORQ token (to exchange for a bar or gel on event day), a CARMEN's muesli bar, a SRAM powerlink, a bottle of PEDROS Icewax, a copy of Australian Men's Fitness, and a fun filled day of riding!!!
Late entry fee kicks in this Wednesday and online entries close 5pm Thursday.
No on day entries.

Trailmix will have a full workshop and retail marquee at the event site for Chase the Sun. Rob and Simmo will be ready to keep you out on the trails clocking up laps.
Jet Black Products
The guys from Jet Black Products are new sponsors for Chase the Sun, but have supported FGP since the very first event. Jet Black Products have a range of parts and accessories – basically whatever you can think of, they do it! Grips, frame protectors, skewers, pedals – check it all out at the Trailmix marquee.

Torq
With the Chase the Sun MTB Series back for the 3rd year, TORQ Nutrition is also back as Nutrition sponsor. We loved every second of last year's events so we are back again to provide TORQ nutrition to every entrant. This year we will be giving every entrant either a bar or a gel to help get through the day. Make sure you check your registration packs for your TORQ Token! It will be attached to the front of the TORQ brochure. Hang onto it and on race day come to the TORQ caravan to swap your token for either a bar or a gel.
Trailmix will have all our usual wares for sale including our TORQ energy powders containing carbs and electrolytes, scientifically formulated for endurance activity. We have also released our TORQ brochure containing useful information about training nutrition, hydration, recovery and the best ways to fuel for endurance events. This can be purchased for $12.50 or if you order over $120 worth of TORQ goodies we’ll throw one in with the order.
As an added bonus we are offering all 2009 CTS Enduro entrants the chance to receive a 10% discount. Just email or phone through your order in the 2 weeks prior to the race you have entered and mention this offer to receive the discount. If you're an early bird and have entered the entire series we will give you a further 5% off.
Pedros Lube Station – (at the Trailmix tent for Round 1)
Pedro's is dedicated to supporting the cyclists that make it happen. They've worked along side the best and brightest teams, professional mechanics, athletes and grassroots teams for years in their quest to provide the best bicycle care products in the world and give back to this amazing sport. Pedros will be supplying all riders with a bottle of Pedros Icewax – look for it in your race bag.
SRAM (also at the Trailmix tent for Round 1! Rob and Simmo are very multi skilled!)
SRAM will be providing it’s by now well known event support for ALL riders using any of SRAM’s products. That means if you have a SRAM Drivetrain or a pair of Avid Brakes or a set of RockShox forks, or perhaps have a query about your Truvativ cranks then the tech support guys from SRAM (and the Trailmix crew!) are there for you.
Chase the Sun Prizes
All placegetters in each category will receive some fantastic product prizes from our wonderful sponsors.
As usual, there are also loads of random prizes on offer throughout the day. Listen out for opportunities to win these whilst resting between laps!
We have some special prizes set aside for the Best Dressed Rider and for the Best Transition Handover - for those in the Mixed Pairs we are expecting something a little extra! Tim’s (MC) decision is final on this one folks, so do your best to impress him!

Team Trailmix rider, Carson ‘Salsa Boy’ Tully, has entered Chase the Sun in the Pro Male Pairs category with team mate Simon Wright. “Chase the Sun always has a good vibe and the tracks at Lysty are fun and fast.” Should be a close competition within the Trailmix crew, with Andrew Choma and Chris Allen also entered in the Pro Male Pairs category. The Pro Male category also includes the Van der Ploeg brothers, and two teams from the Torq crew.
The Pro Female category will also have some well matched competition with Jenni King and Nikki Fisher up against Torq riders, Tory Thomas and Jo Wall.
Newly crowned Australian 24hr Solo Champion, Jessica Douglas has entered Chase the Sun in the Threesomes category. Embracing what Chase the Sun is all about, Jess has signed up to enjoy the day with friends and support all of the MTBSkills beginners crew. I doubt Jess will be taking it easy when out on course though, so watch out for a few hot laps from this recently crowned Aussie champ.
Chase the Roo mini enduro
Bringing the kids to Chase the Sun? Make sure you pack their bikes as we will be having a mini enduro for them at the event site. Chase the Roo will be staged at approx 2pm, sign up at the timing tent after the main event has started.
