Our good friends (hey who wouldn't make friends with the publican, they are also the Redesdale Estate Winery!) are providing riders and supporters with an easy option for dinner over the weekend of the Garmin 24hr.
At only $20, it's an easy alternative.
Bar specials menu.
· Burger with the lot & Chips
or
· Beef & red wine pie with green beans
or
· Bangers and mash
or
· Vegetarian Gnocchi with watercress, zucchini & tarragon butter

If you book ahead then the pub will hold your reservation, if you don't then you may have to wait. The food at the pub is sensational, we've been eating there everynight during our many weekends of trailbuilding. Their details are on their website, click their logo above.

Electronic timing at Full Gas Promotions events
Monday, 10 October 2011 21:51
Those of you who have participated in either the Jeep Dirt Crits or Specialized Cross Melburn series will be aware that Full Gas Promotions have begun making use of an electronic timing system to help us produce accurate, timely results. Over the past few months we have been experimenting and observing different configurations of course/hardware setup and transponder positioning on bikes to ensure that at the switch-over everything works as expected.
The system
We have decided on this system after years of previous experience and months of evaluating various new systems on not just their performance, but also the total cost of ownership
ChangeoverAs such we will soon be moving to relying on our electronic system full time, which will mean one significant change for competitors: That all competitors will need to either own or rent a transponder for any FGP event they participate in. This will include the 2011 Garmin 24 Hour. To be timed and any lap counted, all competitors will be required to carry a unique transponder which identifies the current rider.
What this means for riders
Transponders will initially be made available to competitors at a cost of $50, which becomes the competitors own transponder to use at all our events. Participants who do not own a transponder will have the option to hire a transponder at a rate of $10 per event. A reduced rate will be offered for use at Garmin Dirt Crits at both Westgate Park and Lysterfield Park.
Will this replace having a race plate?
No. You’ll still need to have a plate on your bike for identification by other competitors, by the public, and, for your own safety, for others to report back to officials in the event of an incident.
When is this happening?
We will continue to provide transponders for loan at no charge until the beginning of daylight savings and Garmin Dirt Crits series 36.
After this point, a lease or purchase arrangement will begin.
To purchase a transponder will cost you $50, which remains yours. To hire at FGP events will cost $10, which is reduced to $5 at all Garmin Dirt Crits (Westgate & Lysterfield).
If you own one, you won't be charged a hire fee at either the 2011 24 hour or 2012 Chase The Sun.
When you purchase one we will provide:
- Instructions
- A velcro strap so you can easily attach/remove it rather than having to cable tie them all the time.
- A loan unit at no cost until we hand over your own one pre-programmed.
- Program it to match your MTBA license number so it has a unique number identifiable as yours.
- Take down your details so if it's ever lost or turns up in someone elses hands at an event we can notify you.
- Print up a label for it so it has your details on it.
We'll allow you to forget it up to once a month without charging you to borrow one.
We'll also look at storing them if you only do either Westgate or Lysterfield.
Generally we'll get you one the next week after receiving an order form, but we're saying allow a fortnight just in case.
